I start with a pic of the actor in a suit and tye. This is the one I used: [link]
I just overlay a picture of phoenix on top where the hair should be. Then I blend the colours and stuff. The rest is just colour fixing on the suit and tye in the original photo. And voila!
(I'll probably do a tutorial on this stuff eventually)
